One of the most important factors of business and making money, is internet web traffic. Without it you will never see a single sale, or lead, I guarantee it! Traffic is what moves busines, but after that it is sales copy and the conversion of the traffic.

First thing is first. It doesn’t matter HOW MUCH traffic you get or attract, but WHAT KIND. If you traffic is not targeted enough you might as bell be without it. If your traffic is not going to convert into sales what is the point of having more of it? Better focus your efforts on smaller, but more targeted traffic, or in many cases, lots of targeted traffic.

So what is BAD examples of traffic that rarely converts. It could be things like safelists, FFA’s or link exchanges. While link exchanges is the best method out of the three, it’s still not too targeted. Think about it. People are there for almost the same reason, click your site so they can get a credit for their site. They don’t really care about your website, unless you hit them really hard in the face.

Some really good internet web traffic is search engine optimization. That is where you target your website to rank high in Google for a specific keyword, in order to drive free traffic from the organic listings. This method of promotion is an artfor that migh take a while to master.

The more searches and less competition is usually a good sign, but you don’t want too little competition or it usually means that keyword is not good enough (since it’s not been targeted before). If you keep a portfolio of keywords you want to rank for and keep adding content to your website using those keywords you will eventually rank your website!

Another way to drive targeted internet web traffic is video marketing. Submit your highly relevant and valuable, content video to a website such as YouTube and see the amount of views rapidly increase for this video. If you do a good job of “pitching” your website (usually done with good content and a strong call to action), you get a free visitor from that exchange.

The exchange online is value for traffic, when it comes to free marketing. Unless you are “straight selling something”, which means you are just promoting your website and a person is specifically looking for that at the present moment, like search engine optimization.

Otherwise you want to focus on: Value, Rapport, and Trust. These ingredients will kick serious ass in the internet web traffic world!

Create Viral Ebooks


Creating a viral and/or rebrandable ebook is a great way to create value and drive traffic. All you have to do is write a few articles on a topic related to your site.


Once your articles are written make sure you have included links to your site, and to any related and helpful products. Once that’s done you simply put them together and then format them into a pdf.


If you are going to make the report or ebook rebrandable you will have to get software to do that and to send withthe book so others can rebrand it with their own links.


Giving away free ebooks is smart, especially if they are informative and well written. People tend to wonder if you are giving away this much for free what do you offer on your site, and will stop by to find out.

Squidoo is a large community of webpages, called lenses. It is free to join, and free to create lenses.

You can also include a couple links back to your site, or related products. Hubpages is a little more strict about their links so make sure you read the rules before you begin.


Hubpages shares the adsense profits with you from your hub, which earns you a little money while you drive traffic to your site.


Social Networks


Creating profiles on sites like Myspace and Facebook can quickly drive traffic to your sites. You must be active in these communities for this strategy to really work.


If you are active and let people get to know you, you will find many of them want to know more about what you are doing. Once someone wants to know more about you, they will click the link you have provided to your site.


As you can see these strategies take more energy and effort, but that effort will pay for itself in traffic.


If you are going to use social networking to build traffic remember, it’s something you must keep doing consistently. You can’t just put up a page at Myspace and expect to get traffic. It’s no different than putting up a blog and expecting people to come.


You will have to get out there and interact, add friends, build your brand, let people know you are there, and help others out. This will be what attracts others to you and drive you traffic.

Once I started on-line I promoted alternative folks’s programs…and I still do that a honest amount. You’ll be able to do both…promote other individuals’s product and promote your own…but having an affiliate program and partnering with alternative folks who have lists and can drive traffic to YOU is very, terribly powerful. That is why you wish to own your own affiliate program. That approach you are not having to drive all the traffic yourself. And, the standard of traffic you get from affiliates is abundant above paid traffic…and very even than search engine traffic. Affiliate internet marketing tip – 10  ways to sort out affiliate program. The  basic facts about an affiliate program you are going to place advertising for on your site. There are the 10 most important things you need to know about a retail merchant’s site:
 
1. Make sure the site is the site professionally designed. First impressions are important. Nothing will turn off the visitors you refer to a site than to have them see an ugly site on the end of a link you have asked them to go to. You lose credibility with your visitor, something you never want to do.

2. Make sure the ecommerce shopping cart is easy to use. We still have lots of clunky shopping carts in the marketplace. These hinder conversions and mean you won’t do well with the offer. How do you tell? Go buy something and see if you think it’s easy to use. You’ve seen more than most people, use your experience.

3. Make sure your site has a close affinity to the merchant site. Don’t sign up for an affiliate program just because they have a large payout. If your site is all about “cats and dogs” and you refer someone to a residential lending site, what do you think your chances of conversion are? Low, low, low… so don’t do it. Refer visitors to sites that match your site in content and voice. You’ll get higher conversions making up for someone else’s supposedly higher payout.

4. Check to see if they are selling any brand name products. Having brand names does make it easier to sell online. Having a branded category name is even easier. Does that mean you have to have a brand name to be successful… no. It just makes it easier.

5. Ask them what the conversion rate of visitors to sales is. Depending on the conversion rate and the average sale price I can give the retailer a pretty good idea if he is going to be successful in attracting affiliates. A 1% conversion rate can be good depending on what you sell, and I have some customers that run at 4% as well. Likewise, an affiliate must look at the affiliate conversion rate to determine which program will do the best for him. How do you find out… ask. Good affiliate managers will tell you and you will learn which ones to trust very quickly.

6. Ask them what the average price per sale is on the site. Low priced items are not affiliate favourites  as they have to drive lots of traffic to earn any money. A retailer with at least a average sale is a bare minimum. Many times it may be a packaging issue, but if the retailer hasn’t figured it out by the time you show up… don’t expect them to get them to package their products correctly.

7. Check if they are selling a unique product. This goes to the competition. When I hear the phrase: “Well… there’s really nothing quite like it on the Internet”, you should I know that the merchant has not done any online research. There is competition in virtually every segment of every product type on the web. Sometimes unique is good, sometimes it is a little too “niche-y”. If your site has affinity to a niche product you should be fine, if not don’t stretch too much out of your comfort zone.

8. Make sure the merchant is able to offer a competitively priced retail product. He doesn’t have to be the cheapest for sure. But if the competition is less expensive and they don’t have a value proposition to support the pricing model, you will have trouble getting sales.

9. Similar to #7: Make sure the merchant isn’t allowing others to sell the same product less expensively than you are able to sell if for. Some retailers are actually the manufacturer, so he may have lots of margin in his products. This is okay as long as he doesn’t offer favoured deals to other affiliates.

10. Work with merchants who offer an aggressive affiliate payout. I’ve got this last because if any of the first parts are not in order, high payouts won’t do you any good. Also, brand names many times prescribe low payouts to affiliates, since they are… so well known. You might be better off with an aggressive competitor that really values you.

In a recent survey conducted by Marketing Sherpa, affiliate merchants were asked about the main challenges in affiliate internet marketing. The clear majority responded that it was finding and recruiting high quality affiliates.


This is not surprising. Affiliate internet marketing is a great example of the 80/20 rule. Eighty percent of affiliates generate only twenty percent of the profits while twenty percent of affiliate marketers generate eighty percent of the revenue.


Why the disparity? Part of the reason is that many people are just getting into affiliate marketing and have a learning curve to go thru. That is understandable but a larger reason is that many affiliates whether beginner or grizzled veteran are making mistakes that are costing them big time dollars and will continue to do so.


1. Not treating it as a business
